PLASTIC FREE JULY: Why we’re nudging individual sustainability practices up the urgency stakes

Plastic Free July is now upon us, and with the events of the last year having caused a significant back-step in our single-use plastic habits, the simple act of now doing what we can, has never been more important.
This was the underlying message of our latest collaboration with Klean Kitchen, where the emphasis on re-employing a reusable bottle, was intended as a nudge back up the society urgency stakes for climate change.
We recognise, of course, that going plastic free isn’t as simple as it was before the pandemic, but opportunities for simple sustainability swaps still punctuate our everyday lives… and are ours for the taking, if we so choose!
Luckily, our line of work has introduced us to many such opportunities that, as a result, have already transcended brand partnerships and into our everyday lives.
From Ben and Anna deodorants, to Greeny Peeps Tea Bags…to Noctu loungewear.
These examples are all testament to how multi-faceted plastic-free is becoming, and how inextricably linked to health it really is. The mechanisms are personal as much as planetary, with the net effect of helping to better our wellbeing, as well as our outlook for health going forward.
Plastic-free is, from this stance, one of the most tried and true methods of ‘doing our bit’, and is arguably as selfless as it is self-serving in this bigger, complicated picture of health… and climate change!
